PLAY ME Hi, get your audio under control and click on ‘PLAY ME’ Then after 20 secs. sound is coming – be ready to adjust the volume. A new window will open with nothing but a sound bar on the screen.
You can listen to the five minute audio and then click the top left ‘back’ arrow to return here to read this page. Or the other way around. [At the end of the audio I advise you to go to RollingYourOwnStone.com. However that name has been changed to the site you are on now so just continue your visit here. Thanks.] Anyway, you can play or replay the audio as you like.
The guitar sound behind me in the audio is an Ovation Applause guitar that I bought in a pawn shop in Reno 15 years ago. I lived in Germany, in the southern province of Bavaria. I had brought three Bavarian paraglider buddies to California to fly as many places as we could in ten days.
We landed in a motel in Reno. The guys said, come on then, show us how to make money in this gambling town. I took them out to a pawnshop where I bought an alto sax and this Ovation guitar. I sold the sax in Germany for more than I paid for it AND the guitar.
Somehow I couldn’t bring myself to get rid of the guitar. I glued her neck a couple times. I changed the string hangers. I bedded her down in an Ovation guitar case that is probably worth more than the guitar. The frets are worn down.
But this is the guitar I choose to play often.
The song I wrote in about five minutes riding down Hiway 101 playing the harmonica.
When I started thinking about a song to use to demonstrate Play In A Day this is the song I chose. For one thing, it kinda goes with the guitar. Her name is Sabine. For a friend of mine in Bavaria (Germany).
The name of the song is, “I Love You.”
Notice that the chord changes are fast. Notice that the chord sounds slide into one another. Notice when I stop at the end of the line that everything stops for a second.
If you listen long enough you will observe the squeak of the strings in the chord changes. Since your brain is listening to the sound of the music and not the squeak, you may never notice it. Then again, it may bug you. I spend some time in the course explaining how to eliminate string squeak. You won’t believe how simply some problems are resolved.
Another thing about this audio ad is this. Twenty feet from where I made this ad is my little recording studio. I did not use it.
I made this entire audio ad with an MP3 player. A good MP3 player is a prized possession for a guitar student and performer. Notice I said a GOOD MP3 player, not an expensive one. The one I used here I paid $22 for.
I mention this because I spend considerable time in the course explaining the various values and uses a good MP3 player will have for you. Before long, you will never be without one, the one I point you to.
I mention these things because I approached the creation of this course the way I learned to program computers. I pretended I was you. In fact, I was you. I learned to play the way the course teaches as I created the course. I had been playing guitar for many years. I had to learn to do things differently. So when you hear me play in this audio ad, you are actually hearing a novice. OK, at this point I had been playing more than a day, but still.
My point is this. If you have never played a guitar before, you can play the song you are hearing as well as I am playing the song you are hearing IN A DAY.
I was talking about the way I learned to program computers. I worked in many environments but the two primary ones was defense satellite systems and the world of airline systems, 25 major airlines around the world. I think if you fly on any of the big airlines in Europe you still will be flying on some of the software I wrote.
In this modern world, software is every where. When software has been created the goal is to show it works. Thus you get software that is full of bugs. You, the buyer and user, are, in fact, the software testers.
When we put up satellites and 747s our goal in testing was to prove the software did NOT work. How can you test if your mind is already convinced your test will pass.
I am convinced Play In A Day Guitar Course will work for you. You will progress rapidly. At some point you will begin to incorporate elements into your playing that are not in the course. But you will discover them and incorporate them because you will have incorporated from your time with the course the ability to think new thoughts, new ways, new little tricks that work for you. You will make it personal.
You will connect with me on a chat talk. You will tell me about some discovery you have incorporated. I will not be able to hold back a smile and a feeling of pride and perhaps I will make a discovery myself as I say to myself, “heck, that’s a good idea.”
But first, let’s take this simple song from the top. OK?
